[Press release] Arrival of Guillaume MOTHE as Managing Director of VIVESCIA Group

Wednesday 9 April 2025, 17:28

VIVESCIA’s Board of Directors, chaired by Christoph Büren, today appointed Guillaume Mothe as Managing Director of VIVESCIA Group.

Guillaume Mothe

He will take up his post on 14 April and head up both divisions of the cooperative group, agriculture (the cooperative and agricultural subsidiaries) and food processing (VIVESCIA Industries), as well as its support functions (VIVESCIA Services).

The President of VIVESCIA Group, Christoph Büren, said: “The arrival of Guillaume Mothe marks the start of a new chapter in the transformation of VIVESCIA Group, one we embarked on 18 months ago with VIVESCIA 2030. His spirit of enterprise and 30 years of experience – acquired along the entire agricultural and food processing value chain, upstream and downstream, with family-owned and cooperative groups in our region, in France, and around the world – will be a valuable asset for accelerating the rollout of VIVESCIA 2030 and driving our new growth model forward in the years ahead.
The Board of Directors and I are convinced that, in the demanding environment of profound change that VIVESCIA operates in, Guillaume will be able to shape the group by developing the best synergies between our businesses and successfully leading VIVESCIA on a path of growth, innovation and value creation for farmers – VIVESCIA’s cooperative members – for our customers, our industries and our regions, that is attractive and meaningful for our employees.”

Guillaume Mothe said: “I am delighted to join VIVESCIA cooperative group. It’s a cooperative that I’ve always admired and respected for its pioneering, entrepreneurial spirit. Its historic vertically integrated growth model, recent initiatives like TRANSITIONS, its VIVESCIA 2030 projects, and its work on climate change are strengths that we must capitalise on. I can’t wait to work with all our employees, the Executive Committee and the Board, in close collaboration with the president, on the challenges that VIVESCIA faces, and to write the next chapter in the Group’s development.”

With a degree in agronomy and agro-industry from UniLaSalle, and a degree in transformation strategy and innovation from Ecole Polytechnique, Guillaume Mothe has spent his career between France, the USA, and the UK, working in agricultural supplies for 12 years at Roullier group, logistics (Samat), agriculture and agri-food (Terrena). Having spent 15 years at cooperative group Terrena (11,000 employees, €5.5 billion in turnover), including periods overseeing livestock industries, agri-science and seeds, for the past four years Guillaume served as the group’s Managing Director for agriculture, milling, shelled eggs and egg products, and plant proteins.
