LINK’s 1st birthday: where we are and where we are going…
A year ago, we launched our new sustainable development policy, LINK, after 15 months of work with internal stakeholders. A year ago, we reaffirmed how our position in the value chain and in the grain industry also gives us responsibilities.
LINK is a collective project that permeates all our businesses; it is structured and ambitious enough to meet the challenges we are already facing: climate change, protecting biodiversity, food safety, the energy transition, etc. LINK is also an essential motor for innovation; it will propel our cooperative Group into the future and ensure the conditions for sustainable results.
This anniversary is an opportunity to take stock together of the actions we have taken, the progress we have made and the initial results we have achieved.
it has been a busy first year: LINK is a robust, pragmatic and ambitious programme, which means that it puts great demands on us! But we've moved forward together, and we've made good progress. Foundational projects have been launched to protect the climate, the environment and biodiversity. Promising partnerships have been forged, both within the Group and externally, to develop premium value chains, to make them ever more virtuous, to boost the local economy where we operate without forgetting the solidarity we owe to the most vulnerable...
LINK was created in collaboration with all the Group's business lines with the support of its various management bodies. This collective momentum continuing in the rollout phase and with the start of new project:
The Cooperative and VIVESCIA Industries’ companies have taken ownership of the shared framework – our 20 commitments – built their roadmaps based on their own challenges, and refined their indicators... Our sustainable development policy is gradually being integrated into their strategy, their ambitions and their processes.
LINK is in motion. Many projects are underway and are being rolled out at full speed:
It's urgent, particularly in terms of climate change, which is our main concern, but not the only one. Over the past year, we've also seen a rapid change in the regulatory environment, and our grain and agri-food ecosystem is increasingly mature as regards CSR issues. LINK ensures that our position is consistent with the Group's mission and scale. It also means we can live up to our responsibilities towards our employees, our cooperative members, our customers, our financial and banking partners, consumers and wider society.
LINK permeates the life of the Cooperative and the companies of VIVESCIA Industries at every level...
LINK is closely connected to the Group's strategy. Link should be seen as an approach that energises us and drives innovation. It points to the changes that need to be implemented and makes them coherent. It enables us to activate real strategic levers, to leverage our strengths and turn them into competitive advantages. LINK incites and encourages us to project ourselves ambitiously into the more distant future: 2030.
